The Engagement Photography experience

Congratulations! You’re engaged and you want something to remember this brief but incredible time of life by. Engagement photography not something I take lightly so I take special care to make sure I deliver a product that you will enjoy the rest of your lives. To ensure this, I will typically schedule a time to meet with either you or both you and your fiancé apart from a photoshoot. Sometimes this happens over coffee and sometimes over the phone or email. This allows me to gauge exactly what you are looking for so we can maximize our time during the actual portrait session. We will discuss things like time of day, the poses you found on Pinterest, the editing style, and location.

When it comes down to the actual shoot, I will travel to virtually any and all locations of your choice. A typical shoot for me lasts 1 to 1.5 hours. I am flexible however, and always willing to take some extra time to get exactly what you would like. After the shoot, I will have 15 fully edited digital copies sent to you via Google Drive and flash drive within 7 days. So if the shoot takes place Monday, you will see the photos by the following Monday at the latest (for flash drives, allow a couple extra days for mailing). Most people use there engagement photos for wedding announcements and similar things, so I always offer to have the photos printed at an additional cost. I do this as a courtesy, so I only charge what it costs me to print the photos.

My Style

I love these engagement photo shoots because the joy on display is not manufactured. Therefore the end results tend to be candid in nature and look less rigid and formal when compared to other portrait shoots. I often try to just catch the couple in the moment, when they’re not trying to be prim and proper for a shoot, in fact, many of the best photos are the unplanned ones. My favorite places to do engagement shoots are in parks, gardens, and mansions—I mean really, who doesn’t like that.

When it comes to how I edit the pictures, I try to be mindful of your specific requests. I tend to have a lighter touch at first, present some styling options to you, and make unified album based on your feedback. I’m all about you getting what you want and a stress free experience, so I’m happy to work through a handful of revisions or whatever it takes.
